Halloween seems to be the ultimate day of frosting. Here are some vintage photos to keep the Halloween spirit alive if you’ve already celebrated & to inspire you if you’re celebrating next weekend.
Check out yesterday’s post if you missed it. Steph gave good tips for using quilting cotton in your wardrobe.

I don’t know but they are going to send me photos from the game wearing those outfits and sunglasses. They picked up the outfits today and were so excited like little boys!
This is awesome, Mari! I laughed and laughed and laughed, that chicken man’s face shows such a deep devotion to irony… The stately posture… Dear me.. Thank you for that….
And also… He must have put so much thought into the bacon costume. Designed, executed.. I wonder what he did for a day job, if he had a dark sense of humor… Wonderful.
I really can’t decide. I keep going back & forth on a favorite & his costume is always up there. What must it have taken to build that thing?
The bacon guy is tops and if you could get the Egg girl well what a perfect couples costume.
Aww you’re right!
So what I want to know is how exactly did that lady get into that egg costume?!
I’d like to know that too- maybe a zipper or buttons down the back? It must be so awkward walking around without holes for your arms.
Love the old pictures and seeing how inventive they were. Lots of inspiration for upcoming costumes. I see mushrooms in my future!
The mushroom costumes are so cute! Although I’m not sure how easy they’d be to walk around in. I can see a really nice & big mushroom hat working for a modern costume.
Too weird! The side of bacon, the rooster, the telephone heads… can’t decide which one is the strangest. Thanks for sharing… I”ve never seen any of these images before… never even thought about what people dressed up for on Halloween in the past.
Welcome! It was fun finding them.
That couple dressed as rats? weird animals? is the best/creepiest/awkwardest/cutest thing ever!
Totally! I couldn’t decide what they were either. Shrews of some kind? Aardvark things?
I’m still laughing my butt off thinking about that telephone couple!!!! I had 2 brothers visit me this week in costume but not for Halloween:http://fitforaqueen.wordpress.com/2012/10/28/boys-being-boys/
My my, what an odd costume! Hope they had fun- but I’m with you, how do you eat or drink beer in those things? 🙂
